Bundle Up and Be Cozy Without Breaking the Budget

1/10/2018

Vintage Winter Wear at The Fancy Flea
While it might feel like a heat wave with the temperatures finally above freeing, there’s still a long cold winter ahead of us.  At the New Egypt Flea Market Village, you’ll find what you need to bundle up and be cozy without breaking the budget.

From vintage to new to gently used, we have plenty to keep you warm this winter.

Jeff, The Pyrex Man, has more than just classic dishes.  Each winter he makes sure to have heated socks in stock.  That’s right, heated socks.  You can keep your toes warm all winter.  Just stop by building #24 and see Jeff.  He’ll make sure the cold temperatures don’t give you cold feet.

You’ll also want to bundle up in warm layers to keep the chill away.  You don’t have to wait for the end of winter clearance specials to find great prices on warm clothes.  Georgia, in buildings #29 and #30, has been selling seasonal clothes at the Market for over 50 years.

Each garment she sells is spot free and freshly cleaned.  Not rips.  No tears.  It’s all ready for you to wear.  And while you’re there, you can even pick up a brand-new pair of warm winter gloves.

If you’d like a classic look, The Fancy Flea in building #36EW has a collection of vintage coats that will never go out of style.  They also carry vintage women’s hats to complete the perfect timeless winter look.

Of course, there’s plenty more winter weather items throughout our 40+ shops.  Hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, and maybe even some boots.   You can hop from one heated shop to another heated shop until you find everything you need to stay cozy and warm this winter.

We’ll have our heaters on by 8 am every Wednesday and Sunday.  Stop in and warm up.

And just in case another blizzard comes our way, be sure to Follow Us on Facebook for announcements about any winter weather closures or delays.

The New Egypt Flea Market Village is open every Wednesday and Sunday from 8 am to 2pm, year-round, rain or shine.  We’re one of the last of the old-time markets featuring 40+ buildings each an independently run shop, plus plenty of table vendors with everything from antiques, vintage toys, furniture, handcrafted goods, homemade jams and jellies, great bargains on new items, and thrifty second-hand finds.  Follow Us on Facebook.

Come see Susan in her new building!  For her first anniversary she’s moved into a bigger building at the market!

Susan has been picking for years and we’re pretty sure she loves the hunt more than the sale.  Stop in and see the collection of vintage and antique items she’s curated.  She’s already done the days and hours of hunting and picking.  All you need to do is stop in and browse her shop.

While you’re there you might even get to meet her co-worker Jax.  He’s a little sweetheart of dog.  This is, of course, one of the few pet friendly markets and Jax is happy being here.

Karen and Bill Riley have just transformed building 35A into a cozy and beautiful shop called The Olde Crow Antiques & Collectables.  It’s filled with antiques, country and primitive décor, and even handcrafted canes and walking sticks.

The timing couldn’t be better.  Their shop is stocked full of heartfelt and unique items that are perfect for the holiday gift giving season.  Karen has an eye for heartwarming treasures.  There’s plenty of country and primitive items and décor.  You’ll find everything from tiny trinkets for stocking stuffers, to gift size items (perfect for housewarmings), and plenty of treasures to decorate your own home.

Bill is the craftsman.  He hand makes stunning canes from diamond willow branches.  You can take a peek into his little corner workshop where he transforms rare diamond willow branches from the far North into gorgeous walking canes.  He also creates hardy walking sticks from 130-year-old wooden tobacco hangers.  These tobacco sticks are super solid and once were used on farms to hang and try tobacco leaves.  Bill has rescued them and given them a great new purpose as hardy walking sticks.

The Olde Crow Antiques & Collectables Shop is just one of over 40 shops in the New Egypt Flea Market Village where you can find everything old, new, handcrafted, and gently used.  The market is open every Wednesday and Sunday, year-round, from 8 am to 2pm.
